Every day I wake up and I become frustrated and unmotivated. I look around me and I don’t see harmony, I don’t see bliss, and I don’t feel loved. I don’t feel appreciated, and I don’t even feel full. Depression cripples me and in that depression I become frustrated and on my worse days, I take out my frustrations on my surroundings, the people I love and on myself.
The equation is quite simple though. When I am depressed and frustrated at the results around me, I need to simple come to terms with the fact that Heaven is not on Earth (even though it is because it exists inside each one of us). The equation is simple: ask yourself is the world perfect? If it isn’t, then make it perfect. There is no need for frustration because the potential for perfection, harmony, love already exists, and we are just traveling there together.
So pull on your boots, brush your teeth and fold your bed and keep working on your understanding of what is good. It is overwhelming to prioritize your tasks and find the resolution to focus on just one of them, but if you realize that the simple small actions add up to much larger ones, you can continue. Start as small as you need and if the task is too large, divide it into smaller ones. Make a list of all your ambitions and goals, no matter how large or how small and find the next correct action, even if many aren’t able to be accomplished. \
If you can’t figure out what to do next or are too overwhelmed, do the basics… Start with self care. Eat breakfast, brush your teeth, shower, clean up your surroundings, take out the garbage. Let the momentum build in the small and be courageous enough to accept the large even if you don’t know how to accomplish it.
And pay attention to your frustration, depression and anger and be detached from it and do your best to realize the things you need and want are coming, and we are traveling together as a family to get there together. Don’t externalize your problems, because if you externalize them, you lose ability to make a difference in them.
If you feel someone else is the problem, try to understand this:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”
Heaven isn’t here, and it’s no one’s fault, and its no one’s crime. Heaven just isn’t completely here in all its glory, so hold Heaven in your heart and move forward.. Even if it’s just taking a shower today.
