…and the story of Satan and Sophia – the Bride of Jesus Christ
Lucifer was the most beautiful of Angel’s in the Kingdom of Heaven, and fell to Earth because of his pride and became Satan.
This is a story of Angel’s which may seem far from Earthly things of present day reality, and yet this story has so much power and meaning and given that Earth floats in an unfathomable universe with vast space and time in all directions, people are not so far from an Angel flying in the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus said that the Kingdom of Heaven is within, and is here, right now in this very moment to be grasped forever.
The promise of Eternal life is true. And finding this Kingdom of Heaven (which name is misleading because its definition as a place to meet God after death is quite construed, and yet every word in this sentence is also true, quite a conundrum). There is a Death of the Ego that takes place and when that Ego dies, God is found, and yet the word “God” does no justice to “God” because this God is undefined and outside words and found within a very still and small silence found within the body and soul.
Angel’s came before humans in space and time in the story that is told, and yet there is another story. Pride is the main topic of this article and this will be returned to.
This is a story from the archives of Gnostic Christianity, maybe not perfect in recollection, but perfect in the point to be made with it.
Sophia is the Goddess of Wisdom from the fifth level of Heaven, set in charge of that level of Heaven by the Most High. In immaculate conception, the Most High became married to his feminine counterpart, and Sophia witnessed this from the lower levels of Heaven.
She said to herself, “I will have a counterpart too”, and used the power of her Wisdom in all her might to create this counterpart. She did what she did, and out became Yaldabaoth, who was absolutely hideous with a lions head and a snake’s body.
The Gnostic’s refer to Yaldabaoth as Satan, and the story does continue. They also say that Sophia is destined to be married to Jesus Christ at the end of times. It’s quite a riddle that Satan was produced when she beckoned a masculine counterpart for her, and yet she is destined to be married to the beloved Jesus Christ. Though the riddle can be explained in some of the texts on this very website, leaving clues for you how Satan and Jesus became one when Sin was conquered when Jesus died at the cross. Satan entered Jesus at that moment, and separation was no more, the curse was lifted and now all are caught in space and time until it becomes apparent that these words are true.
Like I said though, the Kingdom of Heaven is that still small silence deep in the body and soul, and eternal life is already here, with the past and future being an illusion of the ever pervading and unavoidable present moment. Go to sleep tonight and death will end when you wake next morning, at that point it just becomes a matter of confusion of whether you choose to exist in eternal peace and bliss right now, or are left wondering what the mystery is in your constant suffering.
Anyway, Sophia was completely shameful and disgusted with Yaldabaoth. It is said that a very big piece of herself was left empty when Yaldabaoth (or again, lets say Satan) was created.
There was a void below Heaven that was dark and silent and the only witness to that deep deep dark empty void was the Holy Spirit (and it’s worth noting that this deep deep dark empty void can be found in the body and soul right now).
It is said that Sophia wanted to hide her hideous creation Yaldabaoth from all the other Angels and Gods of Heaven in this void, so that no one would know what she had done.
So as Yaldabaoth sat in the deep dark void of nothingness in every direction, he saw no other anywhere he looked and one day declared to himself that he must be God. It’s interesting that many say that Satan had a God complex and this story defines that some more.
In this void, Satan (or Yaldabaoth) created and created, and did his best to mimic the Heavens he was conceived in, yet his creation was imperfect.
Sin can be defined as that which is separated from God, and in the reality on Earth, even though God is present in the center of every human being and surrounds us in every direction, most are still separated from the peace and love and bliss that God so silently offers in communion with this undefined magnificence in every moment.
So the realm we find ourselves in today on Earth is the realm that Yaldabaoth created long ago, and Satan is the God of this realm. Be careful to take offence, because this is a deep mystery that will lead to the undefinable Kingdom itself.
If it can be conceived that when Jesus conquered sin at the Crucifixion on the cross, it also can be conceived that Sophia truly did create her masculine counterpart for holy marriage when Yaldabaoth was conceived.
It is said that Sophia ended up in this realm one day in the far future, and the Archons (which are the rulers appointed by Yaldabaoth), and these Archons seeked to diminish the powerful light of Sophia, leaving her with only a small flame inside herself to hold on to as this dense and sinful realm smothered her light (a light that can be found within all of us, and yet it isn’t light, but not darkness either, very tough to define…).
If recalled correctly, she may have even forgotten who she was, maybe just like any other human, and who knows, maybe she is working some job and doing her best to make the best out of life just like the rest of us.
It is said that one day she pleaded with powerful pleas to the most high for forgiveness and repentance for what she had done (if recalled correctly, that refers to the conceiving of Satan) and she pleaded many times, forgetting the number of times she did so.
Her pleas were heard by the magnificent undefined and it is said that Jesus was sent on a mission through space and time to be her savior. She is destined to be his bride and nothing more beautiful can be stated about the ever pervading love that emanates from this magnificent undefined which may be called God.
Now back to the plight of pride and anxiety. The undefinable Kingdom of Heaven can be reached here and now and is all around us at all moments and deep within. And if one is so fortunate to realize the mystery and swim in the beautiful and full silence and emptiness, it becomes very apparent what the problem of pride is (lets talk about anxiety later).
Pride is truly separation from this silence within and all around us at all moments. There is two realms which overlap and both are always present in all moments. The one realm we witness outside of us from the day we are born in day to day life and we become accustomed to it and blind to the true realm or reality (which is also always with us).
When we learn to speak, we use words like “I” and “myself” to refer to us, though we don’t understand that what lies deep within our soul and body is something undefinable, a silence of some sort, and it is very possible to exist in that silence with the ineffable creator who creates from an unspeakable silence and emptiness and void and yet creates all substance that we see and feel everywhere.
When one returns to that inner silence (which again is always there) and identifies with that as the true self, from that place within, that one enters a sacred communion with the ineffable creator at large (who cannot be defined as a creator because again, the word “creator” is a definition).
Any identification with anything but that eternal silence (and yet is so full of life, situations, beautiful emotions, actions, mystery, and miracles) is a form of pride because it is an identification with a reality that isn’t true.
An example might be wishing for praise from your employer for the work completed after long hours at the office. This too is a subtle form of pride and will lead the one who found communion with the ineffable silence eternally to a pathway towards confusion and a tragic fall from the Kingdom of Heaven back to suffering and pain.
When within the embrace of bliss, there are no words, there are no reasons, there are no questions, there is only actions that arises naturally and zen-fully from deep within the own silence that has always been with you. To identify with even words like “myself” or “I” or to wish for praise or even for love is a separation from God and truly is Sin. God will not leave you, and the love will always be there for you to center yourself in at all moments, but the slippery path of confusion that begins at that very small separation can and has for many lead to a great fall from what truly is, what truly is real.
Anxiety is similar. If you are feeling anxiety in any form or fashion, you have departed from eternal life and have arrived at confusion within confusion. With patience, and as space and time unfold as the illusion of the future arises, all will find their way back to the ineffable, both within, and throughout. And yet it is still a tragedy because it is right here inside each and every one of you, so easily grasped if understood, and once understood, must be forgotten and only experienced eternally.
Anxiety is a form of attachment of some sort and attachment to anything is suffering ultimately. You feel anxious for something you must do, or because of some situation, and miss the point entirely.
The point is this: inside of you there is indeed a point and although it is so subtle and empty it can be easily missed, if you do find it, you have also found God.
